When people think of India, they mostly think about a country with overcrowded and chaotic cities as Bombay and Delhi. However, what people do not know is that India has a lot of diversity in culture, religion and especially in nature. This first blog is about where to discover one of India’s ultimate travel destinations: Kerala.
After
making a trip to south-Asia, two friends of ours recommended this
destination to mention in our blog. Kerala is an Indian province located in
south-west India and known as a tropical paradise of waving palms, wide sandy
beaches and a major biodiversity. Moreover, Kerala is the ideal place to visit
during your tour in (south) India, because of the relax environment.
Interestingly, it is one of the few places in India where people do not look
surprised when you are walking in a swimsuit with 35 degrees!
When you
prefer to do absolutely nothing while traveling, we advise you to visit the
hot-spot destination Varkala. Varkala
is known as THE beach destination of Kerala, which is characterized
by a beautiful high cliff and narrow path through
which you must climb
down to reach the
beach. It is possible to stay in a hotel directly to the coast
for only €10 a night. Here you can start the day with a refreshing swim in the sea and have breakfast at one of the many restaurants along the boulevard. The rest of the day you can lie on
the beach, relax in a hammock
or you can visit one
of the surrounding places like Kollam. In the evening
you can choose a delicious
freshly caught fish served in a banana
leaf and enjoy the sunset with
a cocktail!
You can
reach Varkala from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala. Varkala is about
an hour's drive from Thiruvananthapuram, which is well accessible by air, rail
and road.
Have you ever visited India? What was your ultimate travel experience in
India?
